Fat Fellas BBQ & Grille is an ultra-casual eatery that’s found in a small residential section of Newport, and which features a wealth of hearty breakfast and lunch plates that are sure to appease any big southern appetite.
With budget-friendly prices throughout, and a special pick-up window for to-go orders, there’s just enough variety on Fat Fellas BBQ & Grille’s menu to attract hungry patrons of all tastes. Early rises will enjoy a modest but solid selection of pancakes, egg platters with sausage and bacon, French toast, and a range of biscuit sandwiches, like country ham biscuits and sausage gravy biscuits. There’s also a handful of omelet varieties, and sweet chocolate chip or fruit topped pancakes for sweeter cravings. Meanwhile, lunch and dinner patrons can choose between helpings of barbecue, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and good old fashioned southern sides like high puppies, fried squash and fried okra. There are also combo plates with burgers, dogs and even fried shrimp, special kids’ menus, and a range of desserts including the decadent and well-recommended homemade peach cobbler and rich chocolate brownie with ice cream.
Not for the fancy set, Fat Fellas BBQ & Grille is a nice respite from fine dining and pricey cuisine, with a full selection of messy and traditional southern fare.
