Strategies for getting the perfect New Bern rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Selecting and booking your prefect New Bern vacation home:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 5 Bedroom, Oceanfront Home (The Amadeus) has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Additional considerations:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
