Our top New Bern rental property booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. A Place At The Beach III , One-bedroom Unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
