How to find the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's New Bern vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • Start by having your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC-Anchors Away Unit 1 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
