How to book the best New Bern rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To book the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing and booking the perfect New Bern vacation home:
- First, have your family agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Cozy Beach Getaway at APATB! Sandy beaches & Pools #140 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
