How to find the best New Bern rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, shift your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your Search:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View Condo - Ocean View Escape has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
