Strategies to get the best New Bern rental experience:
When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:
- To book the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking a perfect New Bern vacation home:
- To start, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View Escape - Ocean View Condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
