Tricks and tips for getting the best New Bern rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in New Bern. Reserve your New Bern vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book the bestvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Studio Cottage 214** has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
