Rental property booking tips:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, shift your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfect New Bern vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. updated fabulous family cottage. large deck.. on the ocean. great beach access has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
