Make an adventure out of your next trip to Morehead City and go fishing with Mainely Blue Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Cory can tell you all about them.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, Bluefish, Snowy Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blue Marlin, Black Seabass, Sailfish, Wahoo, and anything else that bites. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Cory also offers kite fishing.
You’re welcome to take home any fish you catch, provided they’re within size and bag limits. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Pack a cooler ready in the car!
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You’ll be casting lines from Lucy Ella, a 28’ Henriques express cruiser with room for 4 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Cory has rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish and make the most of your trip. A 10%–20% tip at the end of the day is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. A few items you’ll want to bring include sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer.
We also offer discounted cabin rentals
