The historic town of New Bern, North Carolina is a beautiful place to spend the day exploring all the wonderful shops, eateries, and historic locations.
One of the most beautiful and interesting destinations is the Neuse River, known for its amazing fishery.
The fish in these waters include Speckled Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, Striped Bass, Sheepshead, Cobia, Tarpon, and more with any luck.
You’ll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Caylin also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Fish caught during the trip are yours to take with you, provided they’re within size and bag limits. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home and throw it right into the pan. Your next meal doesn’t get any fresher than that!
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Capt. Caylin welcomes you aboard a 22’ Privateer bay boat that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don’t leave home without a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask.
And that’s it! Your fishing trip with Fireline Fishing is just a click away.
