The clean whites and grays of the condo interior mimic the colors of a sea gull. The furnishings is comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed for both the foodie who loves to prepare and the guest who is heating up leftovers from one of the many local eateries, most of which are within 1/2 of a mile. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and a couch bed in the living room, so the unit can sleep 6. There is a full bathroom with a shower in the primary bedroom, and the full bath off of the living room has a tub/shower enclosure.

The beach is literally just steps away. Step out on the balcony, walk down the stairs, go to the end of Money Island Drive (150ft), turn west (right) go another 50' on Glenn Street, and the state beach access is right there. The beach is wide and inviting, with white sand and teal water that evokes scenes from the Caribbean.

Units A and B (upstairs and downstairs respectively) share a ground floor charcoal grille and an open outdoor shower for rinsing off sand.

How to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking a perfectvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. A Walk on the Beach B gets your feet in the sand within 250 ft. Pet friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
