Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, change your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking your New Bern vacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beach Grove in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
