How to book the best New Bern vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing the best rental in the New Bern area:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beaufort by the Sea - end unit townhome, spacious, pool, and other amenities! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
