Strategies to get the optimal New Bern vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beach Parking & Walk to Sound Pier & No Stairs! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
