Tips to get the perfect Beaufort rental experience:

When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best rental home in Beaufort:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. New Beaufort home at Beau Coast Retreat for ultimate comfort and fun! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual New Bern destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
