- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.

Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.

- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective.
