How to book the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. BEAUTIFUL UPSTAIRS CORNER STUDIO CONDO ON ATLANTIC BEACH has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
