Atlantic Beach rental property booking tips:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. BEAUTIFUL UPSTAIRS CORNER STUDIO CONDO ON ATLANTIC BEACH has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
