Atlantic Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the New Bern area. Reserve your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautifully remodeled oceanfront condo with lovely views, pool access & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
