Finding the best New Bern rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in New Bern. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply New Bern area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Charming, warm & tranquil historic downtown New Bern home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
