Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best rental in the New Bern area:

  • To start, have your group agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Coastal SeaClusion Vacation Rental is located in Down East, Carteret County, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
