Our top New Bern vacation rental tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Booking your New Bern vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. East Lodge - Group Friendly!! Free Wifi and Cable TV included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
