Getting the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:
When to book a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- To get the best value, change your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Golf cart kayaks paddle board launch pet friendly private sunset sunrise gated has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
