Strategies for getting the perfect New Bern rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 2 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific New Bern attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
