How to find the best New Bern rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. First Floor Coastal Comfort in Oceanfront Complex with 3 pools has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
