Emerald Isle rental property booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Modern 5BR Ocean Front Home w\/ Pool! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
