Strategies to get the best New Bern rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking a perfect New Bern vacation home:

  • To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Club K102, Soundview Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual New Bern destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
