Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefect New Bern rental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Townhome on semi private residential beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain New Bern beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
