Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:
- Reserve your New Bern rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pelican's Roost 11, Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific New Bern beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
