Tricks and tips to get the very best New Bern vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefect New Bern rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Views of the SOUND AND SEA! Top floor 2024 FULLY RENOVATED condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
