New Bern vacation rental booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Start by having your family agree to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Views of the SOUND AND SEA! Top floor 2024 FULLY RENOVATED condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
