Finding the best Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking your prefect New Bern vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Steps to the beach! Hear the waves & feel the breeze! Your home away from home! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
