Getting the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose your prefect New Bern rental home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Summer School (Southwinds D11-Oceanview Condo) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
