Tips for getting the best New Bern rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. WATERFRONT!!! Literally on the water of beautiful Bogue Sound. No better view. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
