Strategies to get the best New Bern rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2nd Floor in Resort w\/Direct Beach Access + Free WiFi, Balcony, Shared Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
