Booking the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Wide, Sandy Beaches Await You! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
