There’s a fish with your name on it in New Bern and LeggASea Guide Service will help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Josh can tell you all about them.
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Bluefish, Black Seabass, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Flounder, Atlantic Mackerel, Striped Bass, Speckled Trout, Freshwater Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and more with any luck.
During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 20’ Jones Brothers Skiff with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don’t leave home without sunscreen (non-spray) and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
