How to book the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the New Bern area. To get the best value, shift your family's New Bern vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Unit 179 is a 2 BR\/2 ba condo on 1ST floor overlooking the pool & courtyard. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
