How to get the best rental home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • To book the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing and booking your prefect New Bern rental home:

  • Start by having your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 4BR, Pet Friendly, Ocean Front - Unique Style has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular New Bern destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
