Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular New Bern attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. A Place At The Beach 254, Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
