How to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect vacation home:
- First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Pet Friendly Oceanside Duplex-Barefoot East has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
