Plenty of space to park boat and trailer in yard. Male and female beach cruiser bicycles supplied for meandering through town. Brand new dock that is 12-foot on the T. Catch crabs in the crab pot included and fish off the dock. No swimming due to oyster rocks in the marsh and shallow water. Bring your kayaks for marvelous adventures through the marsh. Booking the best rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in Beaufort. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite New Bern restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review.
