Booking the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best rental in the New Bern area:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Book your Beach Get-a-Way at family friendly Beach Loving! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
