About this Property

  • 5 Bedrooms
  • 4 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2000 square feet

You will adore this classic beach home that sits right on the ocean with upstairs and downstairs porches affording amazing vistas and ocean access! It is comfortable and cozy, old school, with no frills, but with all that is needed for a fun stay at the beach in a super location.

There are 2 full baths with showers, a third bath with a claw foot tub, and another half bath.

The downstairs master has private bath and king bed. The upstairs has 4 bedrooms, 2 with king size beds. One of the king rooms also has 3 twins and is usually claimed by our grandchildren. The other 2 bedrooms upstairs have queen size beds. There is a full bath with shower upstairs as well as a half bath.
Additionally, there is an outdoor shower which we all seem to prefer in the summer. All linens are supplied, towels and sheets, as well as a supplied kitchen, including mixer, blender, processor, toaster, coffee maker, pots/pans and cooking silverware. There are games, books and puzzles that tend to accumulate over the years. Bikes, beach games/toys, rafts etc camp out in the basement/garage. The washer/dryer are in the basement as well. Most of our time is spent on the porch and front deck, overlooking the ocean. There is most often a incredible breeze and always a spectacular view. A gas grille can be rolled out of the garage for grilling. A second refrigerator is in the basement which comes in handy for additional drinks, overflow food and a little additional freezer space.
This home has been in our family a very long time and our memories from all the years are rich. It is an old classic, which we appreciate, and very comfortable, inviting you to relax and savor your stay at the beach. You can feel the appreciate when you walk in the door. The location is super, in a very friendly, family aligned neighborhood. Conveniently, groceries, eateries and stores are all within a mile.

Finding the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to select the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Classic beach house right on the ocean. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
