Our top New Bern rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose and book the rightrental home:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Crystal Coast Atlantic Beach. Oceanfront with private beach access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
