Beaufort rental property booking tips:
Finding the best value:
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply New Bern area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental in the New Bern area:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Darling Cottage Nestled In Our Garden! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
