New Bern rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- To start, have your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Dock Holiday! with Boat Dock & Pet Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
