Tricks and tips for getting the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, picking, and booking the best New Bern rental:
- Start by having your group commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Front Home in Sea Dreams Community! (Dolphin Dreams) has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
