Our top Rental booking tips:

When to go & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Family resort atmosphere on beautiful Atlantic Beach, North Carolina has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
