Our top Emerald Isle rental property booking tips:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose yourrental:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront cottage; clean, modern, and close!! Play, rest, restore... has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your group.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
