Finding the best Emerald Isle rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the perfect New Bern vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Fantastic Ocean Front Cottage with Private Swimming Pool right on the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
