Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Pine Knoll Shores. To get the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- First, have your family select dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fore Your Delight in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
